In my opinion i think that the lesson went well as it gave
others knowledge of Sony not only by using words, but also by showing them a
video as i think visuals can often make a bigger impact on the memory than
words. Also, I and my partner made a fun starter activity for the class to make
them feel more engaged so it wouldn’t be boring for them, as if the start isn’t
good people often switch off. However, despite all the good points i think in
my presentation we could of wrote a bit more about more relevant things such as
synergy, politics as we were meant to include this in our PowerPoint.

•Sony’s roots go back over
half a century to 1946 when it was founded by Masaru Ibuka and Akio Morita.
Morita
•The name Sony derives
from the Latin word sonus meaning sound and
the English word sonny-boy - a term used by the Americans in the 1950's to
denote a bright youngster.
In this video it shows the way Sony has progressed over the year
Their Audience ..
Sony have a huge audience, meeting
needs of those within the elder and younger generation.
The music software's and gaming
software's they offer, bring attention to all of those in the younger
generations.
The television software's and
different channels they offer within the media, also attract a huge audience,
as they have Indian channels and English channels, meet those of different
backgrounds, which widens the target market.

EBI (Even better if) :
|
-Excellent starter; really engaging and gets people talking. Also
introduces topic properly.
|
-Less words
|
-Good detailed history
|
-Don’t just read the PowerPoint
|
|
-Make it clear what needs to be written down from the board (hence 20
word limit)
|
-Video is effective and clearly engages class from comments and interaction
|
-Probably a little long for 6-8 minute lesson
|
-Reference to market is interesting
|
-Way too much text on the slide (better if it was less)
|
-Some very good content
|
-Could do with more focus on the different media aspects of Sony
|
|
-Some content missing (Sony picture, movies, games, computer,
entertainment)
|
|
-Make it clear whether if their channels or media companies

The beginning of the trailer starts off with a title which
is a orange background with a white bold writing, the reason the writing is in
white is so that is stands out against
the background. The trailer then
goes into high key lighting with a
white moonlight in their clouds. This could connote a mystery mood within the audience as it creates a tense mood. In then fades into a bird’s eye view shot of a building with
high key lighting, this is filmed at
night which creates a intense feeling within the audience as they are anxious
to know what is going to happen, this could be the directors way of creating an enigma code for the audience. At the end of the trailer it shows
spider man with a mask, the backlighting
is blacked out focusing more on the key
lightening which is to emphasise his
mask.

This is an image of a Ferrari; the background behind the car
is all blacked out apart from the backlighting
of the car. This could be so that the car is emphasised more and all the
attention of the audience is on the car as red stands out against black. In
addition, the key light is purely
focused on the car which causes a shadow on the right hand side of the car. The
lighting around the car is a soft grey colour which then goes straight into a
black. The fact that it doesn’t fade into a black shows that the main image
which is the car is meant to stand out.

Extract from Citizen Khan...
This scene starts off in black and white, with a medium long shot of a character which
shows his facial expressions and some of his body language. The shot shows from
his hips upwards, the scene starts off with no sound which creates an enigma
code within the audience as they are left wondering what is going on or what
the character is looking at? As he is not making direct eye contact with the
camera but it looks like his focus is on something that we as an audience
cannot identify. Going into the scene
the camera starts to tilt upwards giving us a low angle shot of the character
which shows the audience the character as if we are looking up at him. This
could suggest that the character is in a vulnerable state and he doesn’t have
any power as the camera is looking up at him from a low angle. The character is
wearing a suit, plus the setting around him suggests he is a wealthy man,
taking into consideration this is a film made a long time ago as it is in black
and white. The male in the scene starts throwing his suit case which makes a
loud sound, he then starts smashing up the room which creates loud noises in
the scene which creates confusion in the audience as they don’t know what he’s
angry about or why this is happening, it creates a mystery mood. The are also panning shots being used in the scene,
which is when the camera follows the main character to show his fast movement
around the room to emphasise his anger whilst he’s throwing things around the
room.
